In search of a suitable barber for the significant Hindu Mundan ceremony, which involves the shaving of a child's birth hair, we initially sought an Indian barber familiar with this tradition. Facing difficulty in finding one, we broadened our search to include general barbers and discovered "Sharkey's Cuts for Kids" in Falls Church, VA. My wife called this placeand talked to Tori, a barber there, and to our astonishment and relief, Tori was well-informed about the Mundan ceremony, even mentioning her previous experience in conducting it. This encouraged us to set an appointment for our grandson. The experience surpassed our expectations; the salon proved to be extremely child-friendly, Tori was incredibly welcoming, and the service was outstanding. Most importantly, our grandson stayed calm and tearless throughout the ceremony. We wholeheartedly recommend "Sharkey's Cuts for Kids" to anyone in need of a child-friendly haircutting experience, especially for significant ceremonies.

Recently I visited this place with my daughter. We booked an appointment and when we arrived there was no waiting time. My daughter received so called "mini-cure" as a part of "the package", then her hair was washed and she got a haircut. The place is super cute, clean, staff is very nice. My daughter had a great haircut, the hairdresser (I believe Khen) did really good job but I'm taking one star away for manicure. It was horrible and disappointing. The nail polish was all over the skin around nails. Even it's an add-on and free service and only applying nail polish it should be done in a nice and neat way. My daughter paints her nails much better. Please don't do it to the girls who are excited to have manicure.

I took my two daughters today. One had a very nice haircut/trim. Her hair is very easy long straight hair--just straight across. And my other daughter wanted chin length. This was the worst haircut I have ever seen anyone give anyone. The hairdresser who I will just call "neck tattoo" since I don't know her name didn't separate her hair into sections when cutting, she didn't cut in at all--she only cut horizontal so it is very sharp, and she kept having to go back over and over again for over half an hour because it was crooked. I ended up making her stop once she got to this point because she had cut it crooked 5 times and made it soooooo short. It is comically crooked and short. I'm going to cut her hair myself when I am more calm. But DO NOT GO HERE FOR A GOOD HAIRCUT. Your children will love the cars....but the haircut is a joke.

I will commend the owner for calling me personally and trying to make it right by offering a free recut, but the problem is there’s already two little hair to work with, and the idea of them going in with scissors again is a risk I’m just not willing to take. The stylist didn’t listen to me when I said it was too short and kept making it shorter and shorter on every pass. It is what it is…but not a forty dollar haircut.

Sharky’s Falls church is amazing! I took my granddaughter and she had such a great time. She loved seeing all of the cars and posing with the shark in the front! The staff are so friendly as well. Wonderful experience!

I booked the Mother & Daughter pack as an early birthday treat for my nearly 8yr old. We were pampered in the beauty section by the lovely Tori. So happy with the haircut/style for us both and my little one even had her nails done. A wonderful experience and will now be our regular salon. Such an amazing salon for kids of all ages, highly recommend!
